FBI, NYPD told Capitol Police about possibility of violence before riot, senior officials say
The FBI visited more than a dozen extremists before the rally last week to urge them not to travel to D.C., senior law enforcement officials said.

Have you heard of the police visiting a would-be bank robber, pleading with him, “we have the information you are planning to rob the bank, please don’t do it”?.

According to NBC News, that is what happened when the FBI learned that the pro-Trump rioters would create violence at Capitol Hill to protest the counting of Electoral College votes, and visited some of the extreme groups already under investigation, urging them not to travel to Washington.

This news item makes me angry. I have good reason to be mad because the FBI targeted, surveilled, and interrogated two of my family members in the past.
Their “crime”? they were guilty of having the case of PP – pigmentation problem! – Yes, brown-skinned!
Happily, my personal story regarding the FBI had a happy ending. No charges filed, no prosecution, nada, zilch!

The two family members have joined an elite group of individuals who have an FBI file on them.

In case you are curious about what caused the FBI to turn their attention on two of my family members:

In the first case, a nephew working as an engineer for a multinational corporation, targeted by the FBI, surveilled and questioned. While the FBI had complete information on him (a legal resident of the U.S.), where he lived, and information on his family, the agent made it a point to visit his workplace and leave his business card with his HR department, requesting him to come to the local FBI office for an interview. The agent questioned him on his frequent visits to the airport, meeting foreign nationals, picking up packages, and taking them back to the office. My nephew explained his job entailed meeting his German counterparts and collecting equipment for the various work-related projects.
A little due diligence would have shown that my nephew worked for a German telecommunication giant, and he was meeting his German counterparts, collecting work-related packages.
The super-sleuth of the FBI quickly brought the curtain down on the drama he created and closed his investigation.

The second case involved a family member and his brush with the FBI – had to do with free speech. This young man, a high school teacher, civic-minded, and active in local community issues, became a target, surveilled, and questioned by the FBI. His only crime, speaking against police brutality in Oakland and for lyrics in his hip hop music!
Here too, the case was closed!

FBI’s Washington Field Office Steven D’Antuono, told reporters last week that “there was no indication” of anything planned on Jan. 6th.

Now you see why I call it Federal Bureau of Ineptitude!
